Canna 'Red Velvet'

'Red Velvet' is a rich dark red Canna with large, ribbed bronze and green leaves. Its a stunning variety with a beautiful architectural form.Suitable for a container or for growing directly in the ground. Mix with other tropical like perennials in summer for that 'rainforest' drama. Canna look fabulous with dahlia, ornamental grasses and other late flowering perennials like Crocosmia. Feed well for optimum growth during the growing season. Prefers well drained soil, if you want to overwinter in the ground - mulch heavily in autumn to protect from winter frost. Deadhead to maximise flowering. Cannas grow best in full sun in a location sheltered from wind.
